About the Course

This course stands independently and holds particular importance for individuals involved in construction planning and design. It can be conducted on-site at the customer’s location, at Hendeca premises, or online through MS Teams.

The objective is to provide delegates with foundational knowledge on the pivotal role of a Designer in the context of fire safety, spanning from the conceptual stage through the construction process, handover, and beyond. This includes the following key areas:

Identifying the essential requirements of current fire safety legislation and guidance
Explaining the Designer’s responsibilities in fire safety
Grasping the principles of Fire Risk Analysis at the initial design phase
Describing the contents and purpose of a Fire Risk Strategy Plan, highlighting its role in shaping construction phase sequencing and management

Upon completion, a knowledge confirmation paper is produced at the conclusion of the day. A certificate is awarded to delegates who successfully pass the paper with a score of 60% or higher. Additionally, participants are allowed to retain the course handbook for future reference.

Hendeca has been delivering Fire Safety in Construction courses to Hill for a year now. Our site teams have benefited from spending a day reviewing the HSG168, JCoP and CDM regs and exploring how to eradicate or manage the risk of fire or products that increase the risk of fire in the construction environment. Hendeca use serving or ex Fire officers to deliver the content which brings the reality of fire into focus providing impactful messages for our managers to take away.
